Materials

  • Graham Crackers optional
  • Oreos or similar
  • Canned Frosting. White frosting or chocolate frosting are best.
  • Candy Corn
  • Chocolate Malted Milk Balls or Reese's peanut butter cup
  • Red writing gel or cinnamon candy to make the wattle
  • Candy eyeballs optional

Instructions

  • First if you are using the graham crackers, crack them in half and add a little frosting to the graham cracker.
  • Then open the Oreo cookie. Using a butter knife, spread a little frosting on both cookies, directly over the frosting that is already on the cookie. Make the frosting just thick enough to hold the candies to the cookies.
  • Make a small mound of frosting on one cookie, near the top of the circle.
  • Place one cookie into the frosting on the graham cracker.
  • On the other cookie, place the malted milk ball in the frosting, this becomes the body.
  • Place five pieces of candy corn, point side down, on the cookie as well. Push the candy corn pieces into the frosting to make them secure. This becomes the tail feathers.
  • Dabble a little red gel or a red candy next to the body of the Thanksgiving Gobbler. This becomes the wattle.
  • Then stand up the decorated cookie and press into the frosting of the other cookie to make it stand up straight.
