Cherry Chocolate Chip Cake
This Cherry Chocolate Chip Cake is easy to make with just six ingredients with layers of cherry pie filling, vanilla cake, chocolate chips, and frosting!
Ingredients
- 1 15 oz. Box of Yellow Cake mix or flavor of choice
- 1 21 oz. Can of Cherry Pie Filling
- 12 oz. Sprite or flavored soda/sparkling water
- 2 tbsp butter cut into cubes
- 1/3 cup chocolate chips plus more on top for garnish
- 1 16 oz. can of vanilla or white frosting
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl combine the yellow cake mix and can of Sprite (or similar).
- Whisk it up until light and fluffy.
- Spread the can of cherry pie filling into the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish.
- Then pour the cake batter over the cherry pie filling.
- Add the cubed butter on top of that and then sprinkle the chocolate chips over the batter.
- Bake at 350 degrees according to your package mine was about 28 minutes.
- Once the cake cools, microwave your can of frosting for about 25 seconds and stir.
- Pour over the cake and add more chocolate chips.
- Slice, serve, and enjoy!
