BBQ Texas Toast Blackstone Smash Burgers

These BBQ Texas Toast Blackstone Smash Burgers have a crispy outside, they are juicy in the middle, and cooked to perfection on the griddle.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb. bacon
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • Burger Rub or Seasoning
  • 3 tbsp BBQ Sauce plus more for topping
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 onion sliced (or more to your liking)
  • cheddar cheese slices
  • Texas Toast Sliced Bread

Method
 

  1. Heat the griddle to low-medium heat and cook the bacon.
  2. While that is cooking combine the ground beef, eggs, Burger rub/seasoning, and BBQ Sauce in a medium bowl and use you hands to mix to combine.
  3. Then form the meat mixture into 8 balls. (or smaller for regular buns/slider buns).
  4. Once the bacon is cooked, remove from heat.
  5. Add some butter to the griddle and add on the sliced onions. Let cook for a few minutes.
  6. Add the burger balls on top of the onions. Use a greased press or your spatula to press the meat down. (can use parchment paper to help with sticking).
  7. Let cook for a few minutes and then flip the burgers.
  8. To the other end of the griddle going low, toss on your Texas Toast Slices (or buns) with a little butter.
  9. Top the burgers with cheddar cheese slices and bacon. Let the cheese melt a bit.
  10. Once the Texas Toast is toatsed to your liking add the burgers to the toast top with the other slice and remove from heat.
  11. Add a little more BBQ Sauce for serving and enjoy hot.
