Smoked Berry Cherry Pie

Looking for an easy pie to make on the smoker? Try this berry cherry pie!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 box Pillsbury's roll-out pie crust
  • 1 can of cherry pie filling
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of flour
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Equipment

  • cast iron skillet

Method
 

  1. Preheat the smoker to 250 degrees F.
  2. Roll out one of your pie crusts into the bottom your pie pan, crimping all along the edges with your fingertips.
  3. In a large bowl, mix one can of cherry pie filling with the blueberries, sugar, and flour. (If the filling isn't as thick as you'd like, add another teaspoon of flour.)
  4. Pour filling into your pie crust.
  5. Roll out the other pie crust on top of your filling, crimping along the sides with your fingers to seal in the filling.
  6. Brush the melted butter on top of the pie crust.
  7. Cut a few slits in the top of the pie with a knife in any pattern or design you prefer.
  8. Place in the smoker, close the lid, and smoke for about 2 hours.
  9. Then raise the temperature to 325 degrees and let cook for about 30-40 minutes or until the crust in golden brown.
  10. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream for the ultimate dessert.
Oven instructions:
  1. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
