I have to admit that I am in love with the roll-out pie crusts by Pillsbury. It makes baking a pie so much quicker and they taste flaky and buttery and delicious.

You can choose any cherry pie filling that you find at your local grocery store. I find that most of them run a little on the tart side. This is where the sugar and flour come in. I always mix in about a cup of sugar, more or less to taste, to sweeten it up a bit. Keep in mind that by adding sugar, it will bring out the natural juices of the cherries, making the filling thinner and more runny. This is why I add just a tablespoon of flour to thicken it back up a bit.

How to make this Smoked Berry Cherry Pie on the Traeger or Pellet Smoker

First fire up your grill or smoker at get it rolling to 250 degrees F. If you want it done faster then go ahead and cook at a higher temperature. But I wanted it “Smoked” as much as possible.

Grab out your cast iron skillet or a pie dish and all of your ingredients. In a large bowl combine the cherry pie filling, blueberries, sugar, and flour. Mix it up.

Roll out the pre-made pie crust so that it will fit nicely into the skillet. Then pour the cherry pie filling into the pie crust. Roll out the second crust and lay it on top. Pinch the crust together and remove any extra pie dough.

Then brush with the melted butter. Cut a few slits in pattern of choice on top. I made “X” patterns so that it would kind of look like stars.

How long to Smoke a Pie on the Traeger

Then place the pie into the Traeger and close the lid. Let smoked at 250 Degrees F for 2 hours. Then juice up the temperature to 325 degrees for about 3-40 minutes longer until golden brown.
