Why I love these Christmas Infused Ice Cubes
- Adds flavor to drinks or cocktails
- Festive
- Great for the kids or adults
- Customizable
If you have read along for a while now you may have seen my Old Fashioned With Infused Ice Cubes or my Red, White and Blue Patriotic Ice Cubes. I think it’s fun to add a little flare to ice for non-alcoholic drinks for the kids, cocktails, or even just to infuse water for some flavor. A few weeks back I saw one of my cousins make some for Thanksgiving then saw some of them floating around on my feed, too. I knew I had to make some and have them ready for Christmas morning. So here we are! I got a little crazy and did a bunch of different varieties with the ingredients below. Feel free to make them however you would like!

Creative ideas for Christmas Ice Cubes
Lime, Mint & Pomegranate Arils or Cranberries
I figured these ones would be great in a vodka drink. So I used lime, mint, pomegranate arils and some with cranberries. I made some with just water and then I used some cranberry juice in the other half. You could also use a sparkling water or even Sprite.
Orange, Cranberry & Rosemary
Next I experimented with some orange since orange and cranberry seem to go well together. Fresh cranberries give festive twist along with fresh rosemary. Even if you think the flavor will be too strong, you will be surprised how good these taste!
Orange, Cranberry, Pomegranate, and Rosemary
I decided to put all the goodies in this one. Orange slices, cranberries, pomegranate arils, and the rosemary. Some I made with the cranberry juice and some with orange juice. I thought these would be fun in mimosas or a Christmas screwdriver….. Ooh good idea!
Warming Cinnamon Orange and Cranberry
I had some fun large cube trays from my juicer and decided to make some larger warming ice cubes that my husband could use in a whiskey or bourbon drink. For these I used a stick or cinnamon and some I even added a star of anise (which can be hard to find).
How to make Infused Ice Cubes for Christmas
Step 1: Add the ingredients you are using and fill with water, juice, or sparkling water.
Step 2: Freeze for at least 4 -6 hours. I removed them and put them into ziplock bags.
Step 3: Serve in your favorite drinks and sprits.
Using Christmas Ice Cubes in Cocktails
You can use these infused ice cubes however your heart desires. Here are a few easy options:
- Vodka & Cranberry Juice
- Vodka & Orange Juice
- Flavored Vodka & Sparkling Water
- Old Fashioned
- Rum & Hot Cider (for the cinnamon ones)
- Mimosa’s
- Straight bourbon
Festive ice cubes for non-alcoholic drinks
My kids also enjoy “Fancy drinks” is what we call them. They enjoyed these ice cubes in the leftover Cranberry/Pomegranate juice. You can serve them in orange juice or even just water to add some flavor! Or Sprite would make a great option, too.
