If you are on the look for some new meal prepping sandwiches, I’ve got you! Layers of deli turkey, bacon, cheese, and honey mustard make these Meal Prep Turkey & Bacon Bagels a winner. They are great cold or warmed up, and make a quick and easy lunch for the week.
Maybe you want to meal prep yourself some lunch or maybe you are searching for “lunch idea for husband”. I get it. Every so often I try to make something my husband can pack for work. It needs to be hand held generally, nothing too time consuming, and preferably high in protein. It really helps cut the cost of fast food lunches, too. These Meal Prep Turkey & Bacon Bagels come together in about 25 minutes with just a few ingredients.
Why try these Turkey & Bagel Meal Prepping Sandwiches
- Tastes great warm or cold
- Comes together in 25 minutes
- Freeze well
- Re-heats well
- Budget friendly
- Healthier than fast food
Of course you could eat these for dinner too, go a step further and toss them on the griddle or Blackstone for a warm sandwich.
Why meal prep?
I don’t meal prep too often but taking just a little time helps ensure that you consume more nutritious meals and can help save you money. When we don’t have leftovers or something planned, I know it can be easy to grab a cheeseburger and fries or a sub from the local fast food joint. When you have pre-made meals ready to go, you are less likely to reach for unhealthy options like fast food or processed snacks. So that is why I love coming up with some new ideas for a quick lunch.
What you need for this Turkey Bacon Sandwich
- Bagels
- Deli Turkey (or ham)
- American Cheese
- Bacon
- Honey Mustard Dressing
How to make these meal prepping sandwiches
Step 1: Cook your bacon
Use your favorite method of cooking bacon. Griddle, air fryer, stove-top, or the oven. For these sandwiches, I cooked the bacon in the oven for quick prep and less clean up. Heat your oven up to 400 degrees F. Place some parchment paper down and lay out the entire package of bacon. Cook for 18-20 minutes.
Step 2: Assemble sandwiches
Lay out the bagels and top with a few slices of turkey, a slice of cheese, some bacon, and a drizzle of the honey mustard dressing. Top with the other half of the bagel.
Of course you can enjoy right away or wrap them up in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator. These are great tossed in the toaster oven, air-fryer, or even pop them in the microwave.
Make ahead freezer sandwiches
Yes you a freeze them! If you want double up the recipe for more for later! I just wrap them in plastic wrap or press and seal. Then put them in a large freezer bag, label, and freeze.
