Ready for a super easy Fall recipe that combines pumpkin and chocolate? You should give these Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cake Mix Donuts a try. Just three ingredients, soft, fluffy, flavorful, and the perfect treat all season long.
I haven’t always been a huge pumpkin fan until I started combing pumpkin and chocolate. One of my favorite is my Chocolate Pumpkin Bundt Cake. What is great is the pumpkin takes place of any fats you need in baking. So I have donuts pans and always try to concoct some “healthier” recipes for my kids to snack on when they want a treat. These baked donuts with cake mix are just that. Super easy, baked not fried, and contain pumpkin which is a healthy component!
Pro Tip* Even if you don’t have these donut pans, you could easily just make them in a bread pan, muffins, cupcake pan, or in a smaller baking dis.
What I love about this Donut recipe with Cake Mix

How to make donuts from a cake mix
First start by mixing the yellow cake mix and the can of pumpkin together. I just used a silicone spatula. Keep mixing until a batter forms.
Then fold in the chocolate chips and mix a few times. Then spoon into your donut pans to the top.
Bake in the oven at 350 degrees F for about 15-18 minutes until cooked in the center.
Then pull them out of the oven and let them cool for a minute until you can handle the pan. Flip the donuts out of the pan. You can enjoy them as is or make an easy powdered sugar glaze like I did..
How to make an easy glaze for these baked donuts
In a small bowl whisk together powder sugar and a couple tablespoons of milk. Once it’s thickened to your liking, dip the donuts into the glaze and place onto your cooling rack or a plate. Add chocolate sprinkles or orange if desired.
Then enjoy right away or let cool completely before covering and storing!
