Looking for a quick and easy meal? This Easy Homemade Alfredo Sauce comes together quickly with your favorite pasta to serve up a meal the whole family will enjoy.
When I am home with Sofie, I make her lunch every day. Sometimes it is my Air Fryer Parmesan Ranch Chicken Tenders, sometimes it is Mac N Cheese, and sometimes I just come up with my own concoction.
That is where this Easy Homemade Alfredo Sauce came from! I have never really had any luck cooking with cream or making creamy pastas, but once I started playing with it a bit, I realized how easy it actually was. AND way better then the funky tasting jarred alfredo sauce.
What you need for this Easy Homemade Alfredo Sauce
I wanted to make an easy alfredo sauce with things we always have in the kitchen. So here is what I used:
- Butter
- Milk
- Parmesan Cheese
- Garlic
- Optional** Salt and Pepper, Italian Seasoning, basil, etc.
I like to use Whole Wheat pasta or Veggie Delights so that we are getting added nutrition in, too. But other traditional pasta works just as well!
What can I add to this easy pasta to make a more complete meal?
- Chicken or Shrimp
- Broccoli (we do this often)
- Cherry Tomatoes, Spinach, other vegetables
- Pesto (check out How to Make Pesto over at Foodwinesunshine.com)
- Pine Nuts
How to make Easy Homemade Alfredo Sauce
First start by melting butter in a medium saucepan. Then add the milk and garlic ( I also did a dash of salt and pepper) . Let heat to a simmer.
Then slowly whisk in your grated parmesan. Whisk and let simmer until thickens up a little bit. Pour right over your cooked noodles and stir. Serve with more grated cheese and enjoy!!!
I usually toss in whatever add ins at this point, like broccoli, Italian seasoning, garlic powder.
