If you are on the search for a milestone birthday party idea, then this post is for you! I threw my husband an Aged to Perfection Milestone Birthday Party last year for his 40th birthday. It was fun so I figured I’d share some decoration ideas, food, cocktails and party supplies with you!
If your man or woman of the hour likes to enjoy an occasional cocktail, bourbon, or whiskey drink, then this Aged to Perfection Birthday Party theme may be a good route to go! My husband enjoys bourbon, an old fashion, and whiskey so thought it would be fun and it was a hit! I was searching for a whiskey themed birthday but decided to make it a combo. It only took me a year to get this post up…but ya know life is busy 🙂
Aged to Perfection Milestone Birthday Party
This milestone birthday party theme would be great for a 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th, and so on! I didn’t have much luck researching ideas so I knew I had to share the party details with you!
Food for an Aged to Perfection Birthday Party
For appetizers we served:
- Meatballs with a Copycat TGI Friday’s Jack Daniels Sauce from Persnickety Plates. I really wanted to incorporate some type of whiskey sauce and it was perfect. I actually just tossed all of the ingredients with the meatballs right into the slow cooker a few hours before the party started.
- Crockpot Bourbon Glazed Kielbasa from Tammilee Tips. My husband’s family is part Polish so when I found this Kielbasa recipe that included bourbon, I knew it was a perfect match. They were sweet and tangy and easy to prepare. I actually just added the ingredients into a zip-lock bag the day before and then just emptied it into the slow cooker a few hours before the party.
- A variety or cheese, crackers, and salami.
- Vegetable platter
- Buffalo Chicken Dip with chips (because its always delicious).
- Pizza Dip and bread (for the kids)
I used a nice 3 dish serving slow cooker set from my mom. That worked perfectly.
For the main entrée
My husband and I both enjoy cooking so we actually smoked a brisket and had a large pan of my easy mac and cheese for the main course.
For Dessert:
- Chocolate Cupcakes with the “Aged to Perfection” Cupcake Toppers from this decoration kit .
- Starbuck’s Chocolate Chunk Cookies– From Mom Makes Dinner (just because they are amazing).
- Scratch made brownies with gold sprinkles
Aged to Perfection or Whiskey Themed Party Decorations
I bought a package Whiskey Themed Birthday Party Decoration Kit from Amazon and thought it was reasonable. It came with balloons, banners, and cupcake toppers.
I grabbed a 40th birthday table cover from Party City along with gold plastic cups for beer. Then I used black plates with gold napkins.
I used some recycled liquor bottles that I tied some balloons around for the table center piece.
Aged to Perfection Birthday Party Favors
I thought it would be fun for make up little loot bags with a mini bottle of booze. So I grabbed the 10 for $10 bottles that they have by the registers at Krogers. I put them in loot bags from the dollar store and tied them with a little black and gold “Thank You” sticker.
Cocktails to serve at an Adult Birthday Party
So of course we had a couple bottles of wine, beer, and some liquor. My friend also brught over some jello shots.
I thought it would be fun to have an “Old Fashioned Bar” with a variety of add ins. Then your guests can customize and make their very own fun “old fashioned” to their liking!
What you need for an Old Fashioned Bar
- Grab your favorite bottle of bourbon or whiskey
- Bitters
- Cocktail Cherries
- Orange Slices
- Specialty flavored cocktail syrups
- Cups
