Double Berry Oat Smoothie

Ready for a healthy super tasty smoothie recipe? This Double Berry Oat Smoothie is loaded with fresh berries, spinach, and heart healthy oats.

Strawberry season is just around the corner here in Michigan and I love to swoop them up when they are on sale or from the Farmer’s Market. I love to bake with them and freeze them so I can make smoothies like this Double Berry Oat Smoothie or my Berry Spinach Smoothie.

I love to whip up different smoothies for my breakfast or early afternoon snack. That way I know I am getting my fruits and veggies in and it tastes good. Sofie loves to split them with me too!

Super easy and delicious! All you need for the Double Berry Smoothie is:

  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Spinach
  • Yougurt
  • Oats
  • Milk
  • Flax seeds or chia

To make this smoothie just toss all of your items into your blender or smoothie maker…I have been using my Ninja Storm and LOVE IT! (see below)

I love this Smoothie because not only does it taste good it is loaded with awesome benefits!

Spinach– One of the world’s power foods. A bazillion benefits that include: 

  • High in fiber
  • High in antioxidants
  • Plenty of Iron
  • Good for your eyes
  • fights cancer
  • blood pressure health

Berries- Berries are some of the best fruits for you overall health:

  • Blueberries contain many antioxidants and help lower bad cholesterol, and help lower the risk of heart disease.
  • Strawberries have one of the best sources of Vitamin C, are good for you heart, and help control blood sugar. 

Ground Flax Seeds– These little seeds are a HUGE power food:

  • high in fiber
  • high in Omega-3 Fats
  • can help you lose body fat. 

Yogurt– Regular or Greek Yogurt has many great benefits:

  • Helps aid is digestion
  • Good for your bones
  • High in protein so helps you feel fuller longer 

Oats- Heart heatlthy oats are known to:

  • help in lower cholesterol
  • contain high amounts of healthy fats which helps gives us energy without crashing.
  • high in protein
  • high in fiver which can help you feel fuller for longer
  • can be beneficial for you skin

Double Berry Oat Smoothie

Prep Time 2 minutes
Course Drinks
Servings 1 serving

Ingredients
  

  • 3 strawberries
  • 1/3 cup blueberries
  • 1/3 cup oats
  • 1/3 cup milk or similar
  • 1 handful spinach
  • 1 tbsp ground flax
  • 1 5.3 oz Blueberry Yogurt (Light) or similar

Instructions
 

  • Put all ingredients into blender or smoothie maker.
  • Blend until combine and smooth consistency.
  • Pour into favorite glass and enjoy.
