Thanksgiving is around the corner so I figured I would share this quick and easy recipe for Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice. Many Fall recipes and desserts call for it, and we don’t always have it so I like to share some tips and tricks to keep you cooking and baking without running to the store.
I never buy pumpkin pie spice. I usually just use a dash of this or a dash of that to get the same flavors. Or I stick with cinnamon. This recipe for Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice is a blend of several spices that you most likely already have in your spice cupboard. A few weeks ago I shared my Easy Pumpkin Pie Recipe which calls for pumpkin pie spice (which I made from scratch). So I figured I would share with you.
What you need for Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice
- Cinnamon
- Nutmeg
- Ginger
- Whole Cloves
- Food processor or coffee grinder
- Measuring Spoons
How to make Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice
If you have all ground spices, just combine everything in a bowl and mix it up. I had some whole cloves and whole all spice so I combined all of my spices into a food processor and grinded it all up to combine.
If you have all ground ingredients, you may want to use slightly less allspice and cloves then. This recipes yields four tablespoons. So basically enough for a few recipes for the season.
If you want more, obviously just double, triple the recipe (etc.) Then pour into a jar or an air tight container.
Make sure to PIN IT!
