Need a cold frozen drink to help you get through these hot Summer days?? Try these Homemade Summer Slushies made with fresh fruit! You just need a few simple ingredients to make these homemade slushies. So grab some fresh fruit, sugar, ice, and your blender!


My daughter Sofie has been loving slushies or as she calls them “schwushies” from McDonald’s. So I wanted to make a healthier version right at home and we did! These Homemade Summer Slushies are made with fresh watermelon and summer berries and turned out really good! A nice treat that you can feel good about eating just like my Homemade Fruit & Veggie Pops!

What you need for these Homemade Summer Slushies

  • Watermelon
  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Sugar
  • Ice
  • Blender or Smoothie Maker

How to make slushies in a blender

First grab your blender, smoothie maker, or even food processor. Then prepare all of your fresh fruit by washing and removing the greens from the strawberries and the watermelon.

Next throw your all of the ingredients into the blender and ziz up until all the ice is crushed to your liking. You can adjust the amount of sugar you use but these were just sweet enough for us. I think the fresh fruit kept them perfect!

Pour into your favorite glass and enjoy!!!

Why make these Homemade Summer Slushies at home?

Well as most of you know anywhere you go all of the frozen treat are loaded with either syrups, artificial sweeteners, and tons of sugar! Making these slushies at home helps you know what you are feeding yourself and the kids! These are mostly all fruit and a little sugar! Homemade Summer Slushies

These refreshing homemade slushies are loaded with fresh fruit and the perfect way to cool off this Summer!
Prep Time 5 minutes

Servings 2 servings

Equipment

  • blender

Ingredients
  

  • 5 large strawberries stems cut off
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 2 cups chopped watermelon
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups ice

Instructions
 

  • Wash and prepare all of your fruit.
  • In a blender or smoothie maker combine the fruit, sugar, and ice.
  • Blend until ice is crushed and smooth.
  • Pout into your favorite glasses and enjoy!
