If you love easy no bake desserts, then you need to try this chocolate parfait recipe. These Peanut Butter Chocolate Parfaits are made with layers of crushed Nutty Buddy Bars, chocolate pudding, whipped topping, and peanut butter! The ultimate chocolate peanut butter lovers dessert!
When I am looking for easy desserts to make at home, I want quick desserts that don’t have too many steps or ingredients. That is why these Peanut Butter Chocolate Parfaits are perfect! Great for the kids, your loved ones, or for a single serving dessert to have in the fridge for the week.
I actually decided to make this peanut butter parfait recipe for my daughter for a Valentine’s Day treat. She has been obsessed with Nutty Buddy Bars (or the chocolate peanut butter wafers). And we loved my Strawberry Pie Filling Parfait Cups so much that I wanted to make a chocolate version.
What you need for these Peanut Butter Chocolate Parfaits
- Nutty Buddy Bars (or store brand)
- Instant Chocolate Pudding
- Milk
- Whipped Topping
- Peanut Butter (optional)
So yay for simple dessert recipes with five ingredients! This chocolate parfait is a win win!
Since it is Valentine’s Day week I am happy to also share that it is my third year participating in the Be a Good Cookie Valentine’s Food Bloggers’ Valentine’s Event! Which means tons of food bloggers get together to try to raise awareness and raise some money towards pediatric cancer. Last year I made my Cherry Chocolate Chip Cake for this event and now I am excited to share my parfait desserts with you! I will tell you more about that Be a Good Cookie Fundraiser below. But lets check out how to make a parfait below!
How to make these Chocolate Parfaits with Nutty Buddy Bars
Step 1: Make the chocolate pudding
First whisk together the chocolate pudding and cold milk until thickened and set aside.
Step 2: Crush the Nutty Buddy Bars
You can toss them in the blender or food processor but I wanted mine to have some chunks so I just smashed the Nutty Buddy Bars with a potato masher. You can also add them to a Zip-Lock bag and smash with a rolling pin, too.
Step 3: Assemble the parfait cups
I chose to use some little plastic cups from the dollar store but mason jars or parfait glasses would work, too. Then add a heaping spoonful of the crushed Nutty Buddy Bars to the cups. Then add a big spoonful of chocolate pudding. Add more of the cookies then a large scoop of the whipped topping. Add some more crushed peanut butter wafers on top.
Then I melted some peanut butter in the microwave for a few seconds and drizzled on top! If desired cut a few piece of a Nutty Buddy Bar and stick them on top, too! Enjoy right away or cover and refrigerate until ready to eat!
How long will these chocolate parfaits last for?
I would say these peanut butter chocolate parfait will be best enjoyed within 3 days.
Additions & Substitutions:
- Want a more nutty flavor? Go ahead and add some peanuts for a more “parfait” experience.
- Want to add more chocolate? Drizzle chocolate syrup or add some chocolate chips on top.
- Vanilla pudding would taste great, too.
