Why I love these Sāmores Rice Krispies Treats
I love everything āsāmoresā flavored. From cheesecakes, lattes, pudding pops, and everything in between. This Summer break, my daughter Sofie wanted to make some Rice Krispies treats with chocolate chips. I kinda looked around in the cupboard and saw that we still had some graham crackers. I figured Iets try to put a fun spin on these! So we added in some crushed graham crackers, more marshmallows, and let the chocolate melt inā¦.SO GOOD!

What you need for this Chocolate Rice Krispies Recipe
- Butter (lots of it)- I used unsalted.
- Marshmallowsā I used 2 bags of mini marshmallows.
- Graham Crackersā 1 sleeve lightly crushed up works.
- Mini Chocolate Chipsā These will fold in/melt better but regular sized works, too!
- Rice Cerealā I just used store brand.
I wanted to make sure these were super soft and chewy so I upped the amount of butter in these Sāmores Rice Krispies Treats! And I made a 9Ć13 pan. So if you want to go smaller, you can easily cut the recipe in half for an 8Ć8 baking dish as well.

How to make these Sāmores Rice Krispies treats with chocolate chips
First melt the butter over low-medium heat on the stove in a large pot. Once the butter is melted, add in the mini marshmallows (BUT set aside 1 cup). Heat and stir for 5 minutes or so until melted.
Remove from the heat and add in the rice cereal and crushed graham crackers. Stir everything so that the marshmallow mix is covering everything. Then sprinkle in the chocolate chips and fold them in. Add in the reserved 1 cup of marshmallows and fold in as well.

Pour the mixture into your prepared 9Ć13 baking dish. I like to use parchment/wax paper. But just buttered or greased works, too. Spray your hands with non-stick spray and press the mixture in the pan. If you want you can sprinkle with some more chocolate chips on top.
Allow to set at room temperature for at least an hour. Then cut and serve! Or cover, seal, and leave on the counter.

Tips on How to Make the Best Rice Krispies Treats:
1. Use fresh marshmallows: Using fresh marshmallows will ensure that your Rice Krispies treats turn out soft and gooey. Avoid using stale or old marshmallows as they can result in a hard and dry texture.
2. Melt the butter slowly: When melting the butter, do so slowly over low heat to prevent it from burning.
3. Stir constantly: Once you add the marshmallows to the melted butter, stir constantly until they are completely melted and smooth.Ā
