Why I Love This Strawberry Tequila Sunrise
- Only a few ingredients
- Great for warm weather
- Perfect for impressing guests
- Fresh, fruity twist on a classic
Last year I made a batch of strawberry mimosas where I made a quick strawberry puree recipe. So I decided to make another drink with the strawberry puree and here we have a new fun concoction if you enjoy tequila drinks as much as I do.

Ingredients Needed for Strawberry Tequila Sunrise Recipe

| 🍓 Strawberries – Fresh and ripe are best. These give the cocktail its fruity, bright flavor. You can also use frozen strawberries if fresh aren’t available. 🍓 Lemon – Just a slice adds a little brightness to the strawberry puree. Lime works too if you prefer a tangy twist. 🍓 Sugar – Helps balance the tartness of the strawberries and lemon. You can swap for honey or agave syrup if you like. 🍓 Ice – The base for your drink. Crushed ice or cubes both work depending on how you like it. 🍓 Tequila – The star of the show. Blanco tequila works best for a smooth, clean flavor. Adjust the amount to taste. 🍓 Orange Juice – Fills out the drink and gives that classic sunrise color. 🍓 Optional Garnish – Strawberry slices or orange wedges make it extra pretty and add a little flavor boost. |

How to Make Strawberry Tequila Sunrise
Step 1: Make strawberry puree. Add the washed strawberries to a food processor or a small blender. Add a touch of sugar and a squeeze of lemon. Blend until smooth.
Step 2: Make the cocktail. Gran your glass and fill; with ice. Then spoon in about 1 tablespoon of the strawberry puree (or more if you love extra fruity flavor). It starts the bright, beautiful layer at the bottom.
Step 3: Pour in the Tequila. Add 2 ounces of tequila over the ice and puree. This is the star of the show, giving the cocktail that classic kick.
Step 4: Add the Orange Juice. Top off the glass with 3–4 ounces of orange juice. Pour gently so the colors create that signature sunrise effect.
Step 5: Stir and Garnish. Give everything a little stir to mix the flavors. Add a strawberry slice or an orange wedge on the rim for a pretty, playful finish. Sip and enjoy your fruity, refreshing strawberry tequila drink!

Additions & Substitutions
- You can add a splash of grenadine if you want a sweeter, more vibrant sunrise effect.
- Swap lime for lemon in the puree for a tangy twist.
- Use frozen strawberries if fresh aren’t available — they work just as well.
