Glass with sugared rim for pomegranate margaritas

Okay so I am a sucker for a good tequila drink…. these Christmas Margaritas are just that. They are pretty, they are different, and they taste amazing! I can’t wait to whip these up Christmas afternoon after all of the chaos. Last year I made some of my Merry Mistletoe Mimosas, but this year…this is the one going on the table!

Christmas Margaritas Ingredients

🎄Sugar – to coat the rim and give it that sweet, sparkly edge.

🎄Ice – gotta keep it nice and cold!

🎄Tequila – grab your favorite brand here (use what you love).

🎄Triple Sec or other orange liquor– adds that sweet orange flavor that makes every margarita better.

🎄Pomegranate juice – this is what gives your drink that deep red color and fruity flavor.

🎄Orange juice – brightens things up and adds a little sweetness.

🎄Pomegranate arils – for garnish and a pop of color.

🎄Lime or orange slice – to finish it off and make it look festive.

How to Make this Recipe for Pomegranate Margaritas

Step 1: Prep the glass. Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and dip it in sugar. It gives it that pretty sparkle and a touch of sweetness in every sip.

Step 2: Build the base. Add some ice to your cocktail shaker. Squeeze in the lime wedge and drop it right in — no sense wasting all that fresh juice!

Step 3: Mix it up. Pour in the tequila, Triple Sec, pomegranate juice, and a splash of orange juice. Shake it all up until it’s chilled and blended.

Step 4: Pour & garnish. Fill your rimmed glass with fresh ice and strain the margarita over the top. Add a few pomegranate arils for garnish and finish it off with a slice of lime or orange.

Optional: If you don’t have a shaker, no problem — just mix everything right in the glass and give it a good stir.

Additions & Substitutions

  • Swap the tequila for vodka or white rum if that’s what you have on hand.
  • If you prefer a salt rim instead of sugar, go for it — it gives a nice contrast to the sweetness.
  • You can even mix in a touch of cranberry juice for an extra festive flavor twist.
  • Make them more festive by making a batch of Infused Christmas Ice Cubes!
