This frozen coconut drink makes me so happy. Truly I get the vibe of chilling on the beach listening to some reggae even if it’s just my front porch here in Michigan. Either way this coconut margarita recipe is creamy, smooth, refreshing, and fun. It would make a great addition to any of your summer get together’s, pool parties, and more.
Ingredients Needed for this Coconut Margarita Recipe
- Tequila of choice- I prefer silver tequila in my margaritas. And if you want you can even add spicy tequila (family favorite).
- Creme of Coconut – this gives the creamy and coconut base to the margarita. See below about what t is and substitutions ideas.
- Triple Sec– This orange liquor is a must in a tasty margarita. You can use Cointreau instead or even a splash of orange juice if you don’t have it.
- Fresh Lime– Freaky squeezed lime juice helps make the flavor pop in this margarita.
- Tajin Seasoning– I dash this in every single margarita I make. You can also rim the glass with it as well.
What is creme of coconut ?
Creme of coconut is a sweet, creamy ingredient commonly used in tropical cocktails and desserts. It is made from the meat of coconuts that have been pureed and mixed with sugar to create a smooth, rich texture. You should easily be able to find it at your local grocery store either by the Thai cooking ingredients to by the cocktail mixers.
Creme of coconut substitute
Can’t fine it or don’t have it? You can substitute creme of coconut with some coconut milk with some added sugar. Or you probably could even add in some pina colada mix as well.
How to make this Frozen Coconut Margarita
In a blender or smoothie maker, add in the ice, cream of coconut, tequila, Triple Sec, and a dash of Tajin seasoning (if using).
Then squeeze in the lime juice from the lime wedge. Blend until smooth.

- 2 tbsp. Cream of Coconut
- 2 oz Tequila
- 2 oz Triple Sec or orange juice
- 1 dash Tajin Seasoning optional
- 1 wedge of lime
