So I love peanut butter and banana together. I usually have it on a English muffin and call it good for breakfast. Well….this Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Smoothie has been my newest favorite over the last few months. It is kind of like having a dessert shake for breakfast but PACKED with protein, heart healthy oats, and a serving of fruit!

Health Benefits of this Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Smoothie

Athough this smoothie tastes like a dessert, it is in fact loaded with benefits including:

Oats- Heart healthy oats are known to:

  • help in lower cholesterol
  • contain high amounts of healthy fats which helps gives us energy without crashing.
  • high in protein
  • high in fiber which can help you feel fuller for longer
  • can be beneficial for you skin

Banana– this fruit is great for :

  • High in potassium which is great for your heart health by helping your body get rid of sodium
  • Has soluble fiber which helps keep your cholesterol and blood pressure at healthy levels.

Peanut Butter– this nut butter is:

  • A healthy fat that has nutrients that lower the levels of bad cholesterol in your bloodstream, helping to reduce your risk of heart disease.
  • Great source of protein in your diet which can also help you feel fuller for longer!

Can I add greens or other ingredients to this Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Smoothie?

Of course you could add greens, avocado, some flax, chia…etc. But this is my FAVORITE smoothie and always have these items in the kitchen! This Oatmeal Banana Smoothie would also be great as a lactation smoothie especially if you add some flax!

How to make this Smoothie

Slap everything in your blender or Ninja Fit and blend until smooth and ENJOY.. Just thought I would share because it is so good! My baby and now toddler loves it too!

Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Smoothie

This smoothie tastes like a treat but is packed with the good stuff!
Prep Time 2 minutes
Course Breakfast, Drinks
Servings 1 smoothie

Equipment

  • blender

Ingredients
  

  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup milk skim here
  • 2-3 tbsps peanut butter
  • Ice

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients into blender and mix until all ingredients are smooth and ice is crushed.
  • Pour into glass and enjoy!
