If you have kids, sometimes you want to make a little healthier of a treat to have around. Sofie and I had fun making this Holiday White Chocolate Covered Fruit Platter together. Last year we made my Rudolph Chocolate Covered Graham Crackers and we had fun with that so wanted to make something different this year.
I got the idea after eating a chocolate covered apple this Fall. She loved them so I knew we had to make some of our own chocolate covered fruit. This fruit platter is perfect for Christmas parties or Christmas morning brunch, too!
What I love this Holiday White Chocolate Covered Fruit Platter
- Easy to make
- Fun activity to make with hte kids
- A Healthier treat option
- Good way to get your fruit it HA
- Festive and fun for the holidays.
- Customizeable
- Can make a head of time
We soaked the apples in some Sprite first so that the apples wouldn’t turn brown right away. They lasted a few days in the refrigerator before becoming brown and covered with moisture. So you can definitely make this a day ahead to take to a party, etc.
Ingredients Needed for this Chocolate Covered Fruit Platter
- Apples
- Strawberries
- Marshmallows & peppermint candies/candy canes(optional)
- Christmas sprinkles
- Chopped peanuts
- Vanilla Candy Coating
To be honest I wasn’t sure if the chocolate would stick to apple slice, but they did and we loved them! Of course you could add other items to make it a full blow snack board with items such as chocolate covered pretzels, other fruit, Christmas cookies, or my Easy Christmas Crack!
How to Make this Holiday White Chocolate Covered Fruit Platter
First start by washing both the strawberries and apples. Then cut your apples into slices. I used an apple cutter for perfect even slices.
Place the apple slices in a bowl and pour some Sprite (or similar) over the apples. Toss them so they all get covered in the Sprite. Then pat dry with paper towel and set aside as you get the rest of the ingredients ready.
How to melt the Vanilla flavored white chocolate candy coating
Melt the vanilla candy coating according to the package instructions. I have the best luck just using the microwave and stirring in intervals.
Next dip the apple slices into the melted coating about ½ way and place onto a parchment paper or wax paper lined baking sheet.
You will want to only dip a few at a time and then add the chopped nuts/sprinkles before the coating sets.
Repeat with the clean strawberries.
For White Chocolate Covered Marshmallows
We had large marshmallows left from Summer camping so used those but regular size will work as well. Just dip 1/2 way and add some crush candy canes on top or sprinkles for some festive flare.
Once the chocolate is set, arrange all of the items onto a plate or platter or even cutting board. Serve right away or refrigerate until ready to serve.
Happy Holidays friends!
