Strawberries Dipped in Chocolate

  1. Choose luscious and large strawberries from the grocery store.
  2. Carefully wash, and air dry them, leaving the stems and hulls intact.
  3. Microwave milk chocolate chips or semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, following the instructions on the bag. Do not overcook.
  4. When the chocolate is melted, carefully dip each strawberry into the chocolate, swirling the berry to completely cover it with chocolate.
  5. Set the dipped strawberry to dry on a wax paper-lined cookie sheet.
  6. When the chocolate has set, drizzle melted white chocolate over each berry in a zigzag pattern.

Chocolate Caramel Apples

  1. Choose large, firm Granny Smith apples from the grocery store.
  2. Wash them and air dry them, removing the stem.
  3. Push a popsicle stick or sturdy wooden skewer into the stem and push to secure the apple to the stick.
  4. Melt unwrapped caramels or caramel bits in a microwave-safe bowl in the microwave, following the instructions on the bag.
  5. Dip the apples into the soft caramel to completely cover most of the apple.
  6. Set the dipped apple to dry on a wax paper-lined cookie sheet. You may wish to refrigerate the apples to speed the process.
  7. Once the caramel is firm, melt milk chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, in the microwave, following the instructions on the bag.
  8. Pour the melted chocolate into a Ziploc bag and seal it.
  9. Snip a tiny opening in the bottom corner of the bag, and draw random, zigzag lines over the apples.
  10. Layer the chocolate on until the desired combination of chocolate and caramel is reached.

Chocolate Covered Pecans (or other nuts)

  1. Melt milk chocolate chips in the microwave following the instructions on the bag or in a double boiler on top of the stove.
  2. Stir in fresh pecan halves and a pinch of salt. Stir well.
  3. Separate pecan halves with a spoon and place individual halves on a wax paper-lined cookie sheet.
  4. Cool for at least 10 minutes in the refrigerator to set.

Gourmet Chocolate Covered Pretzels

  1. Melt milk chocolate chips in the microwave following the instructions on the bag or in a double boiler on top of the stove.
  2. Pour melted chocolate into a shallow dish with a lip.
  3. Twirl ½ of a pretzel rod into the chocolate.
  4. Dip chocolate covered pretzel into sprinkles if desired.
  5. Place pretzel on a wax paper-lined cookie sheet to set.
  6. If desired, drizzle melted white chocolate over the firm milk chocolate in a zigzag pattern.
