Sharing is caring!

Celebrate your next gathering with a burst of color and flavor by creating a delightful red, white, and blue Italian pasta salad! This festive dish not only embodies the spirit of patriotism but also serves as a fresh, vibrant addition to your table. Bright and perfectly cooked pasta mixed with pepperoni, creamy mozzarella, and all drizzled with a zesty dressing.

Not only is it visually stunning (and fun), but it’s also a crowd-pleaser that combines the perfect balance of freshness and heartiness. You can absolutely add other ingredients to customize to your liking, but I kept this one pretty simple.

Why I love this Red White and Blue Italian Pasta Salad

  • Super festive
  • Great for Summer holidays like Memorial Day and the 4th of July
  • The kids thinks it is fun
  • Customizeable

I am not gonna lie, I like themed parties and recipes. If we are having people over for a Summer holiday I go all out trying to think of something patriotic like my American Flag Summer Berry Banana Pudding or even Red White and Blue Infused Ice Cubes! My friends or family usually get a kick out of the extra effort that is put in. So I thought I’d put a fun spin on a classic dish. Italian Summer salads usually make their appearance at gatherings so I knew I could spruce it up! Ta-dah….Red White and Blue Italian Pasta Salad. Plus this is a great idea if you are looking for some kid friendly pasta salads!

Ingredients Needed for this Red White and Blue Pasts Salad

🇺🇸 Rotini Pasta– I like these spiral noodles but you can use penne or whatever your preference is!

🇺🇸 Italian Dressing– I just used a bottle of Italian Dressing, you can make it homemade, or even toss with a Greek dressing or Garlic Expressions is yummy too!

🇺🇸 Blue & Red Food Coloring – you will need this to dye the noodles.

🇺🇸 Pepperoni– I used pepperoni but you could use salami slices too.

🇺🇸 Mozzarella Cheese– I grabbed some mozzarella but you could also use white cheddar as well.

🇺🇸Olives or Other Veggies– I kept this one simple but other additions such as peppers, cucumbers, or tomatoes would be great!

How to make this Patriotic Pasta Salad

Step 1: Evenly divide the pasta into 3 portions. Boil one portion and add blue food coloring to the water. Do the same with the red. And then boil regular for the white. If you have 3 pots that can get this done faster for you, go for it! Drain and set aside.

Step 2: Chop ingredients. Whatever you are adding to the pasta salad go ahead and chop up the pepperoni and mozzarella cheese into cubes.

Step 3: Add all of the ingredients in a large bowl and add in the Italian dressing. Stir to combine. Refrigerate until ready to eat.
