Why I Love This Fancy Shimmering Champagne
- Only a few ingredients
- Perfect for New Year’s Eve
- Looks fancy but is super easy
- Sparkly, festive, and fun

I saw some of that sparkling glitter at Walmart and knew I had to make a new fun cocktail for the holidays! I don’t really care for champagne/sparkling brut so I had to sweeten it up a bit with the addition of Triple sec and a cherry. There is a customer at the restaurant I work at who always adds a cherry to her prosecco and thought I would give it a try! So I hope you like this fun cocktail and can add it to your next holiday party or even milestone birthday party!
Ingredients Needed for This Fancy Champagne

| 🥂 Honey – This helps the gold sanding sugar stick to the rim. It’s sweet, sticky, and so easy to work with. You can also use agave or some of the cherry juice. 🥂 Gold Sanding Sugar – This gives the champagne a gorgeous, fancy golden rim. Perfect for that NYE sparkle! 🥂 Maraschino Cherry – A classic little touch at the bottom of the glass. Add a bit of the juice if you want extra sweetness. 🥂 Triple Sec (or orange liqueur) – Adds a subtle citrusy kick that pairs perfectly with the champagne. 🥂 Champagne or Sparkling White Wine – The star of the show. Brut works great, but any sparkling wine will do. 🥂 Gold Edible Glitter/ Dust – The finishing touch. It makes the champagne shimmer like pure magic. |

How to Make Fancy Shimmering Golden Champagne
Step 1: Rim the Glass. Add a little honey to a small plate. Dip the rim of your champagne flute into the honey so the top edge gets a thin, sticky layer.
Step 2: Add the Golden Rim. Pour some gold sanding sugar into a separate small dish. Dip the honey-coated rim into the sugar until it’s fully covered. This gives you that fun, golden finish right away.
Step 3: Build the Base. Drop a maraschino cherry into the bottom of the flute. If you want a touch more sweetness, add a tiny splash of the cherry juice. Pour in the Triple Sec.

Step 4: Add the Sparkle. Sprinkle in a little gold edible sparkle dust. You don’t need a lot—just a pinch gives you that gorgeous shimmering champagne effect.
Step 5: Fill and Finish. Pour in the champagne or sparkling wine to fill the rest of the flute. Give it a second to fizz and watch the sparkles dance through the drink. Add a little more edible dust on top if you want it extra shimmery. Enjoy!

How many glasses of champagne in a bottle
A regular sized bottle of champagne or sparkling wine will give you about 5-6 glasses. So if you are having a party, make sure to have enough for the amount of people you want to serve.
Additions & Substitutions
- You can use cherry juice instead of honey for the rim if you want a lighter, fruitier touch.
- Sparkling white wine works great if you don’t have champagne.
- Add more sanding sugar to the bottom of the glass for a deeper golden glow.
