Okay you have heard of cherry fritters and cherry Danishes. Well, how about some Air Fryer Cherry Breakfast Biscuits! These little handheld cherry pie tasting biscuits are perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert. And my little family is in love with them. Flakey biscuits, cherry filling, and a nice sweet vanilla glaze make these the perfect easy treat any time of the year.
I have never really enjoyed cherry pie filling all that much but I buy a can here and there just in case I decide on something easy like my Cherry Chocolate Chip No Bake Cheesecake. Well, a few years back I posted my Easy Air Fryer Apple Fritters which is pretty similar but made with fresh apples. That recipe is pretty popular on my site so I figured I would keep on experimenting with some air fryer desserts.
These Air Fryer Cherry Breakfast Biscuits are seriously so good especially warm right out of the Air Fryer. If you don’t have an air fryer you can still bake these you may just need to adjust the bake time. So if you are looking for a new brunch item or just a fun snack to make with the kids, try these cherry biscuits. Sofie LOVED these and so did Mike. So I will say my family approved and will be making them again.
If you are on the fence on buying an Air Fryer, I understand. They basically do what an oven does but faster. So we use our flip up one all the time. We use it to toast our bagels, make quick pizzas for Sofie, cheese quesadillas, chicken tenders, and more. I do recommend them for when you want something faster without heating up the whole house with the oven and you don’t have to wait to preheat, either.
Equipment Needed for these Air Fryer Cherry Breakfast Biscuits
Air Fryer (or oven) ( I love our Flip Up Ninja Foodi)
Mixing Bowl
Whisk
Parchment Paper or Air Fryer Liners
Ingredients for these Easy Air Fryer Cherry Breakfast Biscuits
- Canned Biscuits- I used flaky (or you can make my Homemade Biscuit Recipe)
- Cherry Pie filling
- Powdered Sugar
- Milk
- Vanilla Extract
How to make this Air Fryer Cherry Biscuits
I used canned biscuits which split in half. So do that so that you have 16 rounds. Lay the biscuits onto parchment paper on the air fryer basket or tray.
Then add a large spoonful of the pie filling onto each biscuit. My air fryer has a tray and I could fit about 6 so you will have to make these in batches.
Then set you r Air Fryer to 390 degrees and “air fry” for about 5 minutes. You may have to go about 6 minutes. Just see that the biscuits are starting to brown.
How to Make Vanilla Glaze
Once the cherry filled biscuits are slightly cooled, make the vanilla glaze. Add the powdered sugar, vanilla, and a little milk and whisk it up until all the powdered sugar is dissolved. For a thicker glaze use more powdered sugar and less milk. I used about 1 1/2 tablespoons of milk. Then drizzle it over the cherry biscuits.
I sprinkled a little extra powdered sugar on top but you don’t have too. Enjoy with a cup of coffee or later with a cordial for dessert!
How to store these Air Fryer Cherry Desserts
I kept these on the counter in a Zip Lock bag with parchment paper separating the layers. They were good for about 3 days.
Substitutions & Additions:
- Have a different pie filling on hand? Give that flavor a try!
- Don’t want to make the glaze? Just sprinkle some powdered sugar on top.
- Feel like adding some chocolate? Add some chocolate chips before baking.
- You can sprinkle a little extra powdered sugar on top!
