If you love slow cooker meatballs than you need to give this easy Irish appetizer a try! I have been making these Slow Cooker Guinness Glazed Meatballs for years to serve at our St. Patrick’s Day party. Easy to make, flavorful, and the perfect appetizer or main dish any time of the year.
When I make crock pot meatballs, I usually just toss a bunch of ingredients in, stir, and they always turn out. I decided to finally write down what I used last year for these Guinness Glazed Meatballs. Just a few ingredients come together to create a savory sauce over your favorite frozen meatballs in the slow cooker.
What I love about these Slow Cooker Guinness Glazed Meatballs
- Just 7 ingredients
- a good Irish food for St. Patrick’s Day
- Great party appetizer
- Can make a hearty dinner with some mashed potatoes
- A toss it in, set it and forget it recipe
My family loves when I make these Irish meatballs. Guinness stout makes these rich and flavorful for something different. If you don’t want to buy a whole 6 pack of Guinness (but why not?) you can grab one of those Mix and Match 6 packs they usually have at most grocery stores in the beer aisle.
Of course you can use another brand of stout but if you are making them for your Saint Patty’s Day menu, you may want to stick with Guinness! Rich, dark, and smooth makes this recipe a winner 🙂
Ingredients for these Irish Meatballs
- Frozen Meatballs
- Guinness Stout
- Brown Sugar
- Onions
- Worcestershire Sauce
- Garlic
- Tomato Paste
- BBQ Sauce
Making Frozen Meatballs in Crockpot
You have to love meatball recipes in the slow cooker because they go from frozen to perfect in a few hours and then stay warm for serving. So grab your favorite slow cooker and make these easy meataballs! We actually just bought this new Slow Cooker so have been using it more often.
How to make these Slow Cooker Meatballs with a Guinness Glaze
First measure out your ingredients and chop up the onion and garlic. Then in your slow cooker add the meatballs, tomato paste, bbq sauce, onion, garlic, and brown sugar. Next pour the Guinness stout over everything.
Then give it a stir. Cover and set the slow cooker on low for about 3 hours (you may want to stir every once in a while).
Once hot throughout and sauce has thickened serve and enjoy! You can serve them as is for an appetizer or with some mashed potatoes for a meal.
