how to make beer bread

If you are looking for an easy bread to make anytime of the year, you need to try this Three Ingredient Beer Bread. A family friend told me how to make this years and years ago and it is my go to recipe. A little sweet, super soft, and perfect to serve up with some warm or cold dips.

I generally always make this Three Ingredient Beer Bread recipe for our Saint Patrick’s Day shindig. So I figured this is the perfect time to share the bread recipe with you. And yes it really is just three ingredients. Of course you can spruce it up a little if you want which I usually just add some melted butter on top. But the beer bread itself is just sweet enough.

I like to make it and serve it with warm or cold dips or really it is super tasty just by itself. I have even died it green for St. Paddy’s but that is optional. This bread would also be a great side to your favorite Irish Stews, Coddle, or soups! Like I mentioned this recipe came from my sister in law’s sister in law. So, it may already be on the internet somewhere but still I wanted to share it with you!

What we love about this Three Ingredient Beer Bread Recipe

What is beer bread?

Well, you guessed it. It is bread made with beer. And since beer contains yeast, you don’t need to add any. That is why it is easy. What does beer bread taste like? The bread itself is sweet , the texture is soft, and it is addicting!

How to make this easy beer bread recipe

Step 1: combine Ingredients

Simple combine the flour, sugar, and beer in a bowl and mix until combined.

Step 2: Pour into bread pan

Once mixed well, pour the batter into a greased or sprayed bread pan. Optional step- I like to add a little melted butter and sprinkle some extra sugar on top.

Step 3: Bake it

I bake everything at 350 degrees. So go ahead and bake it for about 45-55 minutes until it is cooked and golden brown.

What to serve with Beer Bread

Okay I love just cutting this into cubes and popping it into my mouth during our parties. But it is great with a spread of butter, cheese spread, spinach dip, buffalo chicken dip, or even warm pizza dip! Whatever you like!

What kind of beer to use in beer bread?

I usually just use whatever we have. Last year I made it with an Amber ale. I have used Labatt Blue light, Coors Light, etc. So I would say any light beer or Amber or lager will work fine.
