Strawberry Lemonade Smash

Ready for a new refreshing cocktail to kick off Summer? This Strawberry Lemonade Smash uses fresh strawberries and mint for the ultimate Summer Cocktail recipe. Sweet, refreshing, and pretty! Make a few for your next BBQ, Summer party, or when you are kicking pack by the pool or on the porch!

I have been doing some online ordering for my groceries and sometimes you get substitutes. I ordered a juice for Sofie and we received some Minute Made Strawberry Lemonade. Well it isn’t the best lemonade I have ever had, its really light and more like a juice. Well, she wasn’t drinking it so I knew I had to make something with it so it wouldn’t go to waste.

What I love about this Strawberry Lemonade Smash Cocktail

  • Easy to make at home
  • Utilizes fresh strawberries
  • Refreshing
  • Pretty
  • Fun
  • Don’t need anything fancy to make it– if you have a muddler that’s great! If not (I don’t- you can use the end of a wooden spoon/spatula)

This Strawberry Lemonade Smash was born and I am excited to share it with you. I love new Summer drinks like my Sparking Spiked Peach Punch and my Frozen Berry Lemonade. They are just fun vodka cocktails to whip up on lazy Sundays or when you have company.

It is officially June which here in Michigan is when fresh strawberries are in season. So grab some of those fresh berries from the farmer’s market or roadside stand and make one of these refreshing summer cocktails!

Strawberry Lemonade Smash Cocktail with Vodka

What is a smash cocktail?

The term “smash” cocktail is used loosely in a variety of ways in the service/bar world. Basically you are muddling or “smashing” the ingredients and then pouring over ice. Which is exactly what we do here in this strawberry lemonade smash.

How to make this Strawberry Lemonade Smash

This is a simple cocktail, so grab out your favorite Vodka (we tried a Michigan brand), strawberries, a lime, mint, honey, and the strawberry lemonade. I washed the strawberries and sliced them in half. Cut a couple slices of lime (one for the drink, one for garnish).

Then add the strawberries, honey, lime, and mint leaves into a shaker (if you have one, if not just use a glass). Then use a muddler or the end of a wooden spoon to smash the ingredients together. Add in the vodka and strawberry lemonade and give it a shake or stir and then pour over ice into your favorite glass.

Garnish with a sprig of mint, lime slice, or even strawberries for an extra festive flare. And enjoy! 🙂 Cheers friends.
